Dear Waverly Band students and families,
The Waverly Band Boosters are excited to announce that Elizabeth Bergh has today accepted the position of Waverly High School Band Director. Ms. Bergh comes to Waverly from the Perry School District and is a former MSU Marching Band member. She is ready to hit the ground marching, and will be at this Wednesday night's Marching Band rehearsal from 6:00 to 9:00 at the High School. We know you will be just as eager to meet her as she is eager to begin working with our students. Please join us in extending a warm Waverly welcome to the newest member of our Band family and a hearty Thank You bear hug to Mr. Gorbe for leading Waverly Bands through this transition. |

Fall is right around the corner, which means marching band season, football and time to start planning for the Waverly Band Boosters concession stand at Spartan Stadium! This is one of the Boosters' biggest fundraising efforts, generating money for scholarships, uniforms, trips and many of the activities that make the Waverly Bands the pride and joy of our community. Sean Kottke and Areli Cavazos-Kottke are the stand managers, and we are looking for volunteers to work at our concession stand for the following dates:
Sept. 4 (vs. WMU) Game time: Noon Sept. 18 (vs. Notre Dame) Game time: 8:00 PM Sept. 25 (vs. No. Colorado) Game time: TBA Oct. 2 (vs. Wisconsin) Game time: TBA Oct. 16 (vs. Illinois) Game time: Noon Nov. 6 (vs. Minnesota) Game time: TBA Nov. 20 (vs. Purdue) Game time: TBA
We need 12-13 people per game for everything to run smoothly, and all volunteers are expected to arrive at the stand at least 2.5 hours prior to kick-off. All band parents as well as students 16 years or older and accompanied by a parent or guardian are eligible to volunteer. Parents who volunteer can earn $15 per game for their students' band accounts, and students can earn $10 per game for their own accounts. If you're the parent of an East or Middle School band student, this is a great way to start building up your child's account for trips and Band Camp! If you are interested in volunteering, please email your name, contact information and available dates to Booster Treasurer Anne Slocum at
